Julie A. George specializes in the politics of state-building, ethnicity, democratization, and secession in the postcommunist region, particularly in the Caucasus. Her book, published in 2010, is entitled The Politics of Ethnic Separatism in Russia and Georgia. She has published articles in various journals, including Europe-Asia Studies, Post-Soviet Affairs, and Electoral Studies.
