Marharyta Fabrykant is a Leading Research Fellow at the HSE University and an Associate Professor at the Belarusian State University. She has held a PhD degree in sociology since 2017 and in social psychology since 2018. She conducts comparative research on national identity discourses, national identity related attitudes, and national history narratives with a focus on the bottom-up demand for and perceptions of various versions of national identity, its individual and country level factors, and their interactions and dynamics. She authored numerous publications in journals including, among others, the Nationalities Papers, Nations and Nationalism, Europe-Asia Studies, Slavic Review, Journal of Baltic Studies, Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, and Educational Studies Moscow.
