Philip Gorski is the Frederick and Laura Goff Professor of Sociology and Religious Studies and Chair of Department of Sociology at Yale University. He works primarily on religion and politics in early modern and modern Europe and North America. He is the author of a number of books and articles on religion, nationalism and democracy including American Covenant (Princeton, 2017), American Babylon (Routledge, 2020) and (w. Samuel Perry) Flag and Cross (Oxford, 2022).
