Peter Vermeersch is a professor of politics at the University of Leuven in Belgium (KU Leuven), where he is affiliated with LINES (Leuven International and European Studies) and the Centre for Research on Peace and Development (CRPD). He is the author of The Romani Movement: Minority Politics and Ethnic Mobilization in Contemporary Central Europe (Berghahn Books, 2006) and a co-editor of The EU Enlargement and Gay Politics: The Impact of Eastern Enlargement on Rights, Activism and Prejudice (2016, Palgrave). His academic papers have appeared in a range of journals, including Nationalities Papers, The European Journal of Sociology, Europe-Asia Studies, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Communist and Post-Communist Studies, The Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, and East European Politics and Societies. He is an associate editor of Nationalities Papers: The Journal of Nationalism and Ethnicity.
