A picture is worth a 1000 words. We are proud to announce the winners of the Nationalities Papers Photography Prize in Nationalism and Ethnic Studies. Original photos taken during fieldwork were submitted for competition in 2021. These photos were judged in terms of their content, synthesis, and visually compelling insights about nationalism, ethnicity, or migration.
Each submission is accompanied by a brief description of how the photograph relates to the fieldwork of the applicant.
