Aram Hur

Dr. Hur is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the Harry S. Truman School of Government & Public Affairs at the University of Missouri, where she also serves as Co-Director of the MU Institute for Korean Studies. Her research looks at the relationship between nationalism and democracy, with particular focus on issues of identity change, integration, and democratic citizenship in East Asia. Her first book, Narratives of Duty: How National Stories Shape Civic Duty in Asia, is forthcoming from Cornell University Press. She holds a PhD in Politics from Princeton University, MPP from the Harvard Kennedy School, and BA from Stanford University.
