Teaching Nationalism in Turbulent Times

June 18th, 2020

Teaching nationalism to college students has never been more relevant and necessary, yet in a context of emergency remote teaching there has been little time to consider how to approach teaching nationalism in uncertain times. This roundtable contextualizes the role of nationalism in world events and features experienced teachers of nationalism who examine the kinds of issues teachers need to be ready to engage. The panel highlights strategies to approach sensitive subjects and ways that online and offline assignments can stimulate students’ awareness of nationalism in the world around them.
